So… Anyone else having issues with Allure since the website update? I got an email that my membership is renewing Aug 1 (even though I started my annual sub in Jan and have only gotten a couple boxes and skipped the rest). I first contacted them about a week ago and they’re still working on it and can’t guarantee that I won’t be charged on Aug 1. Apparently their system is showing I have an annual sub and have received 0 boxes and skipped 0 boxes.

I got my box today, and I am so glad there don’t seem to be variations this month. I like everything I received, and will try it all. I am looking forward to trying the dark spot patches on a sunspot I have on my face. I love a good hand cream, so I was anxious to try these out. Unfortunately, I don’t enjoy anything that smells like food like Vanilla (my kryptonite) or the Rosé. The scents are very strong.

I already did and even though I requested a refund on the July box immediately, after several days your customer service told me it was too bad and they’d already mailed me a July box which I had to pay for. So I’m stuck with two meh Junes and one July I didn’t want. Very unhappy!

Noticed on the new website that it says the next “charge date” is 8/01/2022, so if that’s true, and they only release the ‘spoilers’ the same day, it appears we can no longer see what is in the box before skipping?

As I stated, my billing date and the date you release spoilers are the same date. You didn’t really answer my question.

My account shows next charge date 8/08/2022. But I had my account suspended for the last few months and after system change they reactivated the account without my knowledge. I am glad I checked it at the beginning of the month right on time to skip the July box.

I emailed customer service on 6/29 to skip the July box and they responded right away saying my account is showing cancellation status and I will not be charged for July. Yet yesterday a $13 charge from Allure beauty box appeared on my credit card. I do not want anything in the July box and they specifically told me my account was canceled and I would not be charged. I just signed up for the monthly subscription in March and I really regret it because it’s been a fiasco ever since. I’m currently recovering from covid and don’t need this hassle right now.

When I contacted them in late June (the new site was up and my account was working but said I needed to sign up) they also told me I didn’t need to skip July since my account was cancelled. I haven’t been charged this month but I’m keeping an eye out just in case this happens to me, thank you for sharing!

You can always let your bank know about this so they can reverse charges if Allure doesn’t help.

I’m so annoyed with the customer service. I emailed them 4 times to cancel the subscription and they told me they couldn’t do it because they had problems with the system and a lot of other excuses. I called on the 28th last month to cancel my order and they “helped me to cancel it” now I got an email that my order is on the way. I moved from my old house so I had to call them again and they told me they didn’t cancel the freaking subscription but they would give me my refund, I haven’t gotten any emails confirming this. Do not subscribe, they won’t help you cancel your subscription when you get sick of their fake products

This box looks 👎🏻. The lipstick is an awful color. Plus it is July. Why a dark brown shade. I find their lipsticks to not stay put and transfer. Do not go to dinner and drink. I had a berry lipstick all over face, teeth, cup and restaurants white napkin. So many lotions in this box and from brands I never heard of.

The answer to “why a dark brown shade” is “because that’s what Ofra gave them, from stock they couldn’t sell.” Allure tells all these lies about how they hand-pick their personal favorites, and they have no shame about these bare-faced lies. They send what the brands give them, after writing some flowery prose about it and pretending they selected it. The real chutzpah is the price of this sub.

Hi! The lotions and pca cream look awesome I hate those nail stickers they do not fit my wide beds and the ofra is so dark for summertime a nice light glossy fruity shimmer woulda been cool and I have melasma I don’t see how some patches will work I hate those patches anyway loll but def I love the cream and lotions but nothing screams summer in here!

ATTENTION
I called to skip this month’s box and I was told that starting next month all boxes will be shipped out on the 1st of the month. I asked the representative how we were supposed to know what was in the boxes to know if we wanted to skip them before the 1st. She said that these are “discovery boxes” and literally said it is not for us to know what was in them ahead of time. So I asked if that meant we would no longer be able to skip boxes in which we didn’t like the products and she said that was right! 😡

I guess this means no more yearly subscriptions. It’s going to have to be month-to-month now if we like a box and cancel after ever one.

I just skipped the July box using the changes on the Allure sub website. It was extremely easy and said you could skip up until the box is charged on the 8th of the month. If this is true, that gives time to see what the spoilers are. I hope Allure keeps this feature, it’s definitely an incentive for me to stay subscribed if I know I can skip the boxes that I don’t find value in due to my needs and preferences. All it took was to log in, go to manage account and there was a button to skip a month. Much better than emailing and hoping you caught a rep in time.

Allure, I didn’t read Yvette’s message as saying she had a bad experience with the Customer Care team. She was relaying information that she was told. Please respond to that information- is it true or not? We all know that members can skip a box, with Allure and with Amazon. But most members would like to know what’s going to be in the box before they skip it. Will Allure no longer be releasing spoilers before the first of the month? Wow! If that’s accurate, what an incredibly bad decision by Allure. I think they’re going to discover most folks aren’t willing to fork over $23 for a mystery box month after month. IMO, it’s time for Allure to substantially improve the quality of their boxes (especially given the price increase) and release early spoilers, or get out of the game altogether. They’ve lost their way.

In the early days of sub boxes, companies were so much better at either lowering the stakes (low sub prices and higher rewards for reviews) or building up hype so that the mystery was part of the experience. Like, Ipsy did these cute photoshoots as product reveals so you could guess at the contents of your box. There’s no real sense of fun or engagement in that way anymore. It’s a shame.

I have been unsubscribed for awhile but thinking about picking up boxes when I would have use for everything in that box. I am curious about the pca cream because it has niacinamide and vitamin E. I have sensitive dry skin and I am beginning to suspect that I am sensitive to vitamin C. Thoughts?

I’m finally really excited for an Allure box! I’ve skipped so many that I made a one year sub last 2.5 years. PCA skin is sold at my dermatologist’s office and the sample I got in the past was impressive, so I’m excited to get a full size. I always need hand/body lotions so a bunch of minis is fun. I have been very impressed with the performance of the Hero Cosmetics Lightning Wand we got a while back, but that formula is sticky, so I’m looking forward to trying the patches.

I’m also just so happy they stopped doing variations, and I hope that change is permanent! Now they just need to get back to releasing spoilers throughout the previous month!

I’m curious, is the ManiMe item going to be an actual set or a gift card to order in our custom size? This company sizes the gel nails to your specific nail size. Last time they were featured in this box it was a gift card for one of 5 different styles.

Bummer, I have very tiny nails and the custom size is the only thing that works for me unless I want to spend an hour trying to custom trim nail polish strips to fit me (and I don’t.)

I am excited to try the PCA moisturizer and small hand creams are always useful for my purse. But…how can the dark spot patches be full size, there are only six! And I have to agree with many others that I don’t think the lipstick shade is going to look good on me, but I will give it a try. That is partly why I subscribe, to push me out of my comfort zone and try new things. Also I did a search of the Ofra and allure did a review of it showing it on two women. It did look good on them but my coloring is different so…have to wait and see.

Microneedling patches usually come in packs of 6 or 8. They’re more for reducing dark spots where pimples used to be than for treating pimples themselves. Rather than absorb gunk, they deliver medication.

The Hero product is full size because six come in a normal pack.

I’m not a fan of Ofra because it smells like coconut and I hate coconut, but it’s a decent liquid lipstick.

googled the ofra, and it looks great on darker skin tones but awful on lighter ones like mine. disappointing that its not a more universally flattering color. and a bunch of hand creams a tiny cleanser make up half the box. disappointing all the way around. glad i skipped.

Ofra has described this shade as velvety terra-cotta red. As with all lip shades, to get a better sense of the true color, you must try it on personally. So we hope this shade will work for you!

on ofra’s website, they show it on a light and dark model so you can compare, and if you google the name and click on “images” you’ll see beauty bloggers post color swatches of what the shade looks like on them. its definitely an orangey brown color as opposed to reddish…

i dont see how a dark color in the heat of summer and it not universally flattering is an allure beauty editor pick. it feels more like a color that wouldnt sell and they gave it to allure to unload cheaply.

some dark colors i find i can salvage by putting on a shiny lip balm first (like carmex), and then doing a little swipe of the dark color and blending it in, so it comes off more like a lip stain… works great with dark red/berry lippies, but not sure i can pull that off with a brown shade.
