I'm a parent, you're a parent, let's be real with each other. Parenting right now is mind-blowingly hard. So while, sure, my ideal way of feeding my children may be to have a personal chef on staff (or better yet, to have the time or energy to be that chef), that is far from my reality. My version of "asking for help" with feeding my kids healthy, interesting meals that they'll actually consume is subscribing to Little Spoon. This baby and kids food delivery service is to thank for my little ones licking the plate of so many veggie-filled meals. All you need to know is below.

The Details on Little Spoon

Every meal that Little Spoon offers is made fresh with the highest quality ingredients. Their meals span a variety of healthy, organic ingredients so your little ones are sure to be loaded up with nutrients. And their food is super allergy-friendly. Amazing, right? Here's what else we love about Little Spoon:

Baby Food

Little Spoon's baby food is called Babyblends. Depending on how old your baby is, you might be sent single-ingredient baby foods, multi-ingredient combos, textured purees or NEW transition meals, made with whole pieces of food and thicker textures for transitioning to table foods. Here are some facts about Babyblends:

  • Cold-pressed, organic foods made weekly.
  • They stay fresh for 14 days in the fridge or up to 3 months in the freezer. Use 24 hours after opening.
  • No preservatives or fillers.
  • Really fun and interesting flavor combos, with 100+ ingredients used, the menu includes some that are regularly available and some seasonal flavors.

My 9-month-old's favorite Babyblends flavors: her first love was Peach, but now she's taken a liking to the Limited Edition Sweet Potato Zucchini Latke.

Toddler Food

Three Cheese Egg Bites with Sweet Potato Hash.

Babyblends may have maintained my sanity by saving me from trying to be the do-it-all mom and DIYing my baby food to maintain my family's goals for nutrition, but it's the Plates—well-rounded meals for toddlers and kids—that are really the hero of this story. Those with toddlers know that once-adventurous-eater babies soon turn on veggies and only want carbs, and Little Spoon plays into that reality with hidden veggies and appealing meals. Here's the deal with Plates:

  • Good for toddlers and kids up to age 10.
  • Breakfast, lunch, and dinner-type foods are offered.
  • Every meal has protein, fiber, and vitamins by way of natural ingredients.
  • Hidden veggies + superfoods for peace of mind that your little always has a nutritious meal.
  • Options for various dietary needs, like No Gluten, No Dairy, No Meat, and more.

My 3-year-old's favorite Plates: Chicken Super-nuggets with broccoli and sweet potato-carrot poppers. Her second favorite is Cheesy Black Bean Pupusas, which is responsible for her starting to like black beans.

Pouches

Fact: pouches are a major food group for toddlers. I used to feel so-so about them because grocery store brands are filled with preservatives and fillers alongside the fruits and veggies, but such is not the case for Little Spoon pouches, aka Smoothies. Here's what's up with them:

  • Freshly made, cold-pressed.
  • Meant for babies, kids, and adults *wink*.
  • No preservatives, nothing artificial.
  • No coconut options available; otherwise, all are free from common allergens.
  • Just so darn good.

Our favorite Smoothies: Tahini Banana Bread (toddler's favorite), Strawberry Banana Shake (baby's favorite), and Green Dream (my favorite).

The Cost

If you're thinking, "this is all well and good, but what's my investment going to be?" I'm happy to report that this subscription is budget-friendly.

Little Spoon starts at $2.74 per meal + $5 flat-rate shipping.

You can choose between 1, 2, or 3 meals per day, and shipments are delivered every two weeks.

Final Thoughts

Can I give Little Spoon a hug? This fresh food subscription is to thank for my baby's first foods, my toddler eating full, healthy meals, and it even takes care of snack time for all three of us (and dad, too). If you're like me and need one gigantic thing to be taken off your task list, give Little Spoon a try.

"At Little Spoon, we believe convenient, high-quality meals for our kids shouldn't be so hard to come by (or so expensive), yet most of what's available at the grocery store is preservative packed and lacking nutrients. Our mission is simple: we want to make it easier for parents to keep their ki... read more.

Hi there, I'm Christen. I am all sorts of things:

🌳 a writer who loves to convey feeling

🌲 a mother who wants to have just as much fun as my kids do

🌳 an outdoors-lover who prioritizes spending time outside with my family

🌲 a low-maintenance self-carer

🌳 a general hungry person with an unstoppable sweet tooth

You'll find me collecting stationery and squirreling away stickers, riding bikes and swimming with my family, creating outfits in colors and silhouettes that make me feel amazing, wearing big earrings, drinking beer and asking my husband to feed me harmonies to sing, taking my vitamins, living for dancing to live music, roping everyone into a craft, being human and vulnerable, and celebrating the phenomenon of being alive.

...and doing it all with energy, delight, and jokes along the way.
