First Impressions

Each month, Nourish Beauty Box usually arrives in a box with an info card that has a quick overview of the box on one side and more detailed information about the products included on the other.

While I might've been confused by a product or two in the past, this box was totally spot on. In fact, I've used so much of the products that I'm almost out of two of them! Keep reading to find out why I think this box totally hit the mark.

Now, on to the items!

Nourish Naturals Tinted Lip Serum in Happiness, 0.14 fl. oz. - Retail Value $16

Every lady loves a natural-looking lip gloss, and the Nourish Naturals Tinted Lip Serum glides on easily and adds a hint of color. Compact and pretty in a muted berry and rose-y hue, this lip gloss is formulated with a soothing and nourishing blend of jojoba, sunflower and safflower oil, and enriched with hydrating shea butter.

Chock full of antioxidants, this subtle tint coats the lips and brings out their natural hue. The compact size is perfect for that on-the-go lifestyle. My only complaint is that the formula is pretty dry and matte. I'd prefer something gooier.

Here's the swatch for the Tinted Lips on my wrist and lips.

Marigold Bub Gentle Cleanser, 3.25 fl. oz. - Retail Value $30

Skincare trends come and go and it's rare that I hop on any bandwagon. Have you watched any TikToks or Instas by Dr. Lindsey Zubritsky recently? Layer this, layer that, spend your entire life savings on beauty products and you'll look 18 when you're 50. Side note: no know relation, but it sounds like she married a distant cousin.

But one thing we can all agree on is the power of double cleansing. I've been using the same Olay cleanser for years and I feel like I never get everything off my face. That is not the case with this awesomely foaming facial cleanser. Infused with soothing and hydrating coconut and calendula, this gentle cleanser washes away the day (and night) while leaving behind a smooth and flawless canvas (so I can start piling on stuff all over again).

This vegan and paraben-free cream cleanser was created with sensitive skin in mind, and provides gentle exfoliation with lemon, orange and sugarcane extracts.

Kaleido Cosmetics Muse Skin Pearl Illuminator, 0.11 fl oz. - Retail Value $16

Back in May, I received a peachy blush from Kaleido Cosmetics, and sadly, I'm almost out of it! This makeup brand was all new to me, and when I saw another small box by the same brand, I got really excited!

While this is more of a highlighter than a blush (is the website wrong or did I receive the incorrect product?), I love it just as much and now I layer it on top of the blush. This cruelty-free and vegan shimmer provides just the perfect amount of illumination for perfectly pearlescent skin!

Silky, smooth, and natural-looking, the powder blends easily onto the skin to create iridescent luminosity as it smooths out the appearance of fine lines and oversized pores. Made with ultra-fine pearl pigments, it creates an elegant halo of light that lightly dusts the skin's surface (without settling in).

Here's a swatch of the highlighter on my wrist and cheeks.

Peony Cosmetics Eye Shadow Trio, 0.11 oz. - Retail Value $18

Whether you're heading to a gala or typically carry a minaudiere clutch or small shoulder bag, this compact eye shadow in after-hours hues is perfect for you. It's got to be the thinnest palette I've ever seen!

Formulated with silicon-coated micronized pigments and kaolin clay to absorb oil and create a silky-smooth texture, this highly pigmented eyeshadow trio is nourishing and illuminating, and the color really lasts throughout the night.

Featuring a neutral brown-ish hue with a hint of shimmer, this eye-catching shadow is hypoallergenic, non-comedogenic, and fragrance free. But my favorite part is the teeny-tiny compact that makes on-the-go touchups a breeze!

Here's a swipe of the balm on my wrist and lips.

Verdict

This month's box included some very useful products that would work well on just about anyone!

Value – Was This Box Worth It?

The Cost: $39.95 for a monthly plan

Value Breakdown:

  • Tinted Lip Serum: $16
  • Cleanser: $30
  • Illuminator: $16
  • Eyeshadow Trio $18

The total value of my box was $80, which isn't the best value for a $39.95 box. But since I've actually gotten a lot of use out of this shipment, that makes up for it.

If shopping were an Olympic sport, I’d be a gold medalist. And while my bank account often feels the crunch, I just can’t stop buying secondhand clothing and accessories, under-the-radar designer goods, stuffed animal unicorns (I have about 75), and toys for my pet bunny rabbit. After 20 years of city slicking in NYC and DC, I now have a car and love to tour the Virginia countryside looking for vintage shops, undiscovered wineries and breweries, historic sites, and Thai restaurants—I’m addicted to Thai food. I never leave home without a spare phone charger because I love horror movies and therefore have an irrational fear of being stranded somewhere with a dead battery.
