Stitch Fix is a personal styling service. When you sign up you take a pretty in-depth survey of your sizes, your style, and pricing preferences. After choosing when you'd like to receive your delivery, your stylist handpicks 5 items based on your preferences. The fee for this service is $20, and that includes free shipping and free returns. And if you keep any of the items they send you, you get to deduct the $20 fee from the total. (If you keep all five items, you also get a 25% discount!)
My items are reflective of my style and price preferences, so your Stitch Fix may be completely different!

Stitch Fix for Women June 2020 Review
When I signed up for my fix this month, I received the same email I have been getting each time I schedule a fix:
We noticed that you recently scheduled a Fix with us. We’re so excited to help you find something you love, however, we wanted to let you know that we are experiencing delays in our fulfillment center right now. We are working to get these delays reduced but unfortunately, your Fix will be arriving later than originally scheduled.
We truly appreciate your patience as we navigate this situation during these times and sincerely apologize for the delay. If receiving a Fix at a later date is not convenient for you, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us at hello@stitchfix.com and we’d be happy to help you out. We look forward to being a part of your closet!
This month, I actually got a second email:
Hi Brandi,
I wanted to reach out about your upcoming Fix. Your Stylist asked me to let you know that your Fix will be delayed while we wait for inventory that matches your size, style preferences and requests to arrive. We always want to make sure we’re sending you the best Fix possible and believe that waiting just a few extra days will help make that happen.
If the delay means your Fix won’t arrive at an ideal time for you, just let me know. It’s no problem for us to extend your return window.
Thank you for your patience while we build you a Fix you’ll love. Let us know if you have any questions.
Regards,
Isabella
This was fine to me, and I appreciated their transparency regarding this, although my Fix actually shipped soon after and was here 5 days later which was a little odd!
This is my invoice which provides specifics on the brand, size, and price of each item. They also give instructions at the bottom for how to check out and either purchase or return your items. My total came to $252.00, but with the 25% off (which they take off BEFORE deducting the $20!) and the $20 credit, my total drops down to $169.00. That’s a savings of $83.00 on these items. (Please note there is a personal credit on my account which is why the total is lower). Stitch Fix also includes a prepaid USPS envelope for you to send back any returns or exchanges which makes it so easy and hassle-free!
Your stylist will also include a style sheet with some tips on how to wear the pieces in your Fix. They even include ideas for accessories which I find incredibly helpful! There is also a note from my stylist, and it looks like I have another new stylist this month, which is always a bit nerve-wracking. The stylist can sometimes make or break the Fix! This month I had a specific ask for my stylist; I wanted a head-to-toe beach outfit that wouldn't require a strapless bra. Let's see what we got!
Delina Knit Maxi Skirt by Gilli, Size L - Cost to Keep $48.00
We started with an item that I knew I wouldn't wear; I am just not a maxi skirt kinda gal. I think part of it is because it's hard to run after my young kids in one, but also, I just never like the way they look on me and I end up feeling frumpy for some reason. That being said, this one is really cute with soft, flowy fabric and large florals. It had a little ruching at the waistband which I liked, but it was definitely too tight across my hips (which is probably another reason I'm not a maxi skirt fan). While I would probably pair it with a white or darker blue top, my stylist suggested that I pair this with the yellow knotted top I am wearing here which is from one of my 2019 Fixes. I love that she thought to pair it with something in my closet, but it wasn't really my favorite look.
Anchorage Diamond Printed Tote by Street Level - Cost to Keep $64.00
I was really hoping for a purse to go with my head to toe look, and while I love the beachy fabric, color, and pattern of this purse, I tend to travel a little lighter in the summer so this bag felt absurdly large to me. I actually have this same bag in a canvas olive fabric and it is a fantastic bag, with nice long straps and beautiful gold accents, but this is more the bag I use in the winter when I have extra accessories (hats and gloves) to store. One of my favorite features is the little metal feet on the bottom which help keep the fabric from touching the floor when you have to set it down!
It has three separate compartments inside with the outer two pockets having snap closures and the center pocket with a zipper. The zippered compartment has a large open pocket on one side with an open double pocket on the other side. It also came with a dust bag tucked inside of it.
Here it is on my arm for a sense of scale. I didn't think it really paired well with any of the items in my Fix since the pattern was so busy and most of the items were florals. This was probably the outfit it paired best with.
Amal Beaded Neckline Knit Top by Magnolia Grace, Size M - Cost to Keep $48.00
This top is really pretty and the golden yellow with the florals and gold beaded neckline felt like a great summery mix. It was stretchy and pretty comfortable, but I didn't feel like it was the most flattering top. I wanted to like it, but I just wasn't too stoked on it.
Corinna Brushed Dolman Knit Top by MIX by 41 Hawthorn, Size M - Cost to Keep $38.00
I have no idea why my stylist sent this top. I can understand that the sleeve length and dolman style can work well with shorts, but this is definitely a fall/winter fabric and not breathable or appropriate for summer on the east coast. The knit, while buttery soft and comfortable, is very thick and I don't even know that it would suffice for a cooler beach evening. I was slightly tempted to keep this for the fall, but it was sort of clingy at the waist and slightly see-through so I decided to just send it back.
Kaela Faux Wrap Knit Dress by Kaileigh, Size L - Cost to Keep $54.00
This last item was probably the only thing that I liked in my Fix this month (besides the purse, which I just don't need right now). It is so soft and comfortable and I love the wrap style top (where was this when I was still nursing my babies?), but my favorite feature is the fluttery sleeves! It's really subtle, but it gives this cute feminine look to the dress that I love. I also think the color is really gorgeous and unique, but it still didn't feel quite like a $54.00 dress to me. I'm still undecided on this one!
The Verdict: This month I asked for a head-to-toe beach outfit and I was left feeling pretty disappointed in what my stylist sent. There was no true outfit and while she sent a purse which is definitely something that would help coordinate a head to toe outfit, it didn't really seem to pair well with any of the pieces since they all had busy patterns, and it was much too big and bulky for a summery beach look. I do appreciate that she referenced some pieces I already had in my closet from previous Fixes, although I was hoping for a whole new look. I understand they may be having inventory issues, but if that's the case, I would have much rather waited the few extra days as their email said! So in the end, cute clothes overall, convenient service, but I definitely didn't get the beachy summer outfit I was looking for.
To Wrap Up:
Can you still get this Fix if you sign up today? Stitch Fix curates its Fixes based on each individual’s preferences as well as what’s available. What you get might not be the same as what I got, but you also might get something that fits your style and body even better than the looks above! Sign up and see what they choose for you!
Value Breakdown: This styling service costs $20 with free shipping and returns. The total retail value of the items inside is $252.00. The invoice lists the cost of each item next to it, but if I keep all 5 items, then I get a 25% discount. The $20 styling fee for the Fix is applied to the purchase no matter how many items you keep, and in this case, it would bring the total down to $169.00. That’s a discount of around 33% for these items.
