Here's What's Inside!
This month we received three board books themed ''Journey Across the Pond.'' The books came paired with an activity guide which included instructions for one craft and two games. The craft was creating a royal crown with construction paper, stickers, and gems. The games included having a tea party with stuffed animals as well as creating an obstacle course with pillows and blankets. We also received some adorable summer-themed stickers like sunglasses, sweet treats, and beach essentials.
Bizzy Bear: Knights' Castle by Benji Davies — Retail Value $8.99
Up first for my kiddos was a medieval adventure featuring adorable animals and pullout tabs for interactive scenes. As we continued through the story my daughter was able to pull the tabs out and move them up and down or left and right to unveil new characters and unlock the next scenes. Maddie is always fascinated with interactive books, so I know she'll be hooked on this book for quite some time. Her favorite tabs to play with were the one that unveiled the bear in shining armor and the one that allowed her to race the galloping horse. I personally loved the artwork and appreciated that this book was more focused on the imagery and personal interaction than the text - a perfect book for my 2-year-old and 6-month-old to share.
Peek-a-Boo by Janet and Allan Ahlberg — Retail Value $8.99
Up next was Peek-a-Boo!, which, funny enough, is my daughter's favorite game to play right now. The book displays life through the eyes of a baby and features cut-outs for transitioning to the next scene. I appreciated the honest glimpse at what a home full of kids most commonly looks like (contrary to Instagram) - toys and clothes everywhere, parents and other family members hard at work, and a bit of chaos mixed with unending joy. 🙈 Finally, a book that gets it!
Paddington Bear All Day by Michael Bond (Author), R. W Alley (Illustrator) — Retail Value $8.99
I was so happy to see this in our box! I loved this series so much back in the late 90s/early 2000s and was excited to share this one with my littles. Paddington took us on one of his daily adventures that consisted of getting dressed, eating a delicious breakfast, having tea time, then going back to sleep. It was a short and sweet classic that both my littles enjoyed.

Value Breakdown: This subscription costs $24.90 including shipping. The 3 books that we were sent in the 0-3 age range for January retail at $26.97 and the additional cost for stickers probably cost around $2. If you take into consideration the standard price of shipping on Amazon or other suppliers, then the total retail value is quite a bit higher than the cost of the box. Not to mention, you receive a carefully curated selection of books, and some fun activity prompts!
