The Mindful Box is a monthly subscription from Mindful Souls, a landing place for those interested in spirituality, personal growth, crystals, and more. Mindful Souls focuses on simplifying and demystifying the concept of spiritual improvement, making it more accessible and understandable for everyone. The Mindful Box is meant as a holistic self-care delivery. Each box contains 6-8 mindful items such as crystals, aromatherapy, and other self-love tools.

The Cost: $39.97 per month + free shipping to the US.

This box was sent to us at no cost for review. (Check out the editorial guidelines to learn more about how we review boxes.)

First Impressions

Monthly deliveries come packed in this beautifully branded box. Inside are a bunch of canvas pouches that hold your items. You can preview what's inside them by opening the info pamphlet first, or you can take the path of surprise by peeking in each one. I usually do the latter!

The theme this month is Healing & Happiness. The intro inside offers that the most relationship in your life is the one you have with yourself, and to invite authenticity in will serve us all as we heal toward happiness. The items in this box are meant to help toward that goal.

The mantra this month is "I am open to being happier than ever before," which are beautifully spacious words to take into our days. The sticker of the month is a tree with the words "grow from the inside." The mantra and sticker are nice monthly bonuses!

What's Inside the August 2024 Mindful Souls Box

Minimalistic Agate Stone Sun Catcher — Retail Value $26.97

Yellow agate is said to refresh one's sense of purpose, and while I can't speak to that personally, I will say I have sun catchers hanging in many of the windows in my home, and having rainbows projected through my house always brings a sense of happiness. Oddly, the clear crystals meant to catch the sun on this decoration seem to just be plastic, instead of actual crystal that might refract light. I have yet to see it produce any rainbows, but its visual iridescence is eye-catching. Unfortunately the start charm fell off right away, but there are enough others that it still looks complete.

The metal loop at the end of this sun catcher was too narrow to fit on my window locks, so I hung it from this lamp nearby.

Peridot Crystal Candle — Estimated Retail Value $29.97

See similar here.

Peridot is considered a healing stone by some; for me, it's my mom's birth stone, so I just enjoy it for the connection to her. In addition to the small green stones, this candle has crushed flower petals poured into its wax. It's a large candle! The scent is incensey, and very citronella-forward. It doesn't say anywhere that it's an outdoor candle, but I might give it a try on my back patio.

Chakra Necklace — Estimated Retail Value $20

See similar here.

This necklace has an adjustable golden chain and a lineup of chakra-colored beads in descending sizes. They're wrapped together by brown twine with a little braided tail—it's very caterpillar-like!

Here's the necklace at its shortest length. I think I'll experiment with wearing it layered alongside other necklaces.

Raw Phoenix Stone — Estimated Retail Value $1.82

See similar here.

I hadn't heard of a Phoenix stone, but I see from an etsy page that "Phoenix stone is not a widely recognized or documented gemstone or mineral in the realm of geology or metaphysical practices," and our pamphlet says it's a mix of chrysocolla, malachite, and turquoise. I'm not sure how that works, but it manifests as a somewhat ordinary stone, to be honest! It seems possible that some faint bluish tones come through in some cuts, and especially when polished, but there's nothing particularly eye-catching about the one I received.

Nature's Meditation Incense Sticks

This box of incense is proprietary to Mindful Souls, and is described as floral & herby. It's pleasant! I prefer incense with a slightly deeper scent to burn in my home, but it's nice to have an option to change things up.

Selenite Stick

Buy a bundle for $22.97

The info pamphlet describes this as a "peach selenite stick," but the one I received is classic white. Some people use selenite for emotional healing, making this a great tool to use as you enhance your relationship with yourself and create space for happiness and abundance.

Verdict

The Cost: $39.97 per month + free shipping to the US.

For the "Healing & Happiness" theme of the Mindful Box, we were sent 6 items—a mix of stones, aromas, and a necklace. This box costs $39.97. Most of the items from this box aren't available in the Mindful Souls online shop, which is common. In some cases I used estimated values based on similar products I found elsewhere online. I hesitate to offer an estimated total retail value in this box because so many are hard to pin down, but there seems to be at least $85 worth of items inside.

Hi there, I'm Christen. I am all sorts of things:

🌳 a writer who loves to convey feeling

🌲 a mother who wants to have just as much fun as my kids do

🌳 an outdoors-lover who prioritizes spending time outside with my family

🌲 a low-maintenance self-carer

🌳 a general hungry person with an unstoppable sweet tooth

You'll find me collecting stationery and squirreling away stickers, riding bikes and swimming with my family, creating outfits in colors and silhouettes that make me feel amazing, wearing big earrings, drinking beer and asking my husband to feed me harmonies to sing, taking my vitamins, living for dancing to live music, roping everyone into a craft, being human and vulnerable, and celebrating the phenomenon of being alive.

...and doing it all with energy, delight, and jokes along the way.
